Whether or not you’re the resolution type, the new year marks a fresh start. With the season crisp and full of possibility, checking in to heart, mind & body & setting intentions is helpful no matter what path you’re on, old or new. For me, this is the year of following through with creative ideas. Too many times in the past I have let opportunity pass me by, having written my creativity off. I’m sure so many of us are familiar with those feelings – when an idea sparks, the excitement that follows as the realization of its potential sets in, only to be overshadowed by that nagging “its not good enough/ unique enough/ enough enough” doubt. In truth, there are (and will always be) a myriad of reasons to not see ideas through, but I’m going full millennial and going for it anyways. Allowing this side of myself to be seen, to be vulnerable, to see what happens & where it will take me.
And this is where The Forest & Fig comes in – it is my first step. A place to gather, share & savour. Here, I combine my love of delicious and healthful food with lifestyle ideas for living simply, more sustainably. I hope to shed light on a few ways in which we can elevate the health and wellbeing of ourselves, our communities and our environment. So here we go!
If you’ve set the new year off, gravitating towards new diet & fitness goals, as so many of us do, this recipe (and this blog) are meant to convey how easy, approachable and fricken delish plant-based eating is. If you need a new smoothie recipe to add to the rotation, this is your new go to. What a bright and satisfying way to power pack some greens into your day.
OH! and P.S. this recipe also translates to an amazing juice.
