Hemp Balls

Hemp Balls

Our bodies need fat. It is the most concentrated source of energy we have  & somewhere down the line we received all this misinformation that fat is bad for you. The truth is fat is essential for a host of basic, integral bodily functions like nerve and brain function, vitamin absorption and the maintenance of healthy skin & body tissues.

There are however huge differences in the quality of fats that we eat. Fats from fried, processed or packaged baked foods are called trans fats and they increase risk of type 2 diabetes as well as heart disease and stroke. This is true as well for the saturated fats in meat, cheese & dairy products.

The fats you want to focus on incorporating in your diet, that sadly most people do not get enough of, are omega 3’s found in hemp, chia, walnuts, flax, & some fish. This week I’m sharing two easy as ever recipes to pack some delicious & beneficial fats into your diet. I carry a few of these with me whenever I know its going to be a long day away from home or a long shift at work, to give me just the boost I need. Fat balls for the win!!!
