Hello & Welcome,

I’m Sara and I love food – eating, cooking, learning about how its grown – I love all of it. For years I’ve been interested in health and nutrition, the connection between what and how we eat and how that relates to our personal health and wellbeing. This curiosity lead me to study Holistic Nutrition and I am currently finishing up my diploma through the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. Throughout my studies the past couple years, in an attempt to find my “ideal diet”, I have experimented with just about every major diet plan out there. Gluten-free, dairy-free, paleo, vegan, pescatarian, raw, you name it – I have probably tried it. Through all of my experimenting, the commonality I noticed most was – the more I prepared my meals from scratch, at home, the better I felt. Less bloating, more energy. Less regret, more positive associations with the food I eat. I’ve learned that good food matters, and that simple, delicious & approachable home-made meals are the perfect place to start. 

The Forest & Fig is a place where I combine my love of food and creating with lifestyle ideas for living simply. It is a sharing space for living well through plant-based eats, community, and positive vibrations.
